My mother's 17" iMac G5 has developed a problem where once it goes to sleep it won't wake-up. She has to reset it (hard restart) to get it running again. Of course this problem started two months after her Applecare expired. :)

She had a local Apple shop come out and look at it. They replaced the logic board, but the problem persisted so they put her old logic board back into it.

I'm thinking it might be the power supply or even a software issue, but she lives several states away so I can't look at her it myself. I've never had this issue on any of my Macs.

Has anyone encountered this issue with their G5 iMac? If so, what was the fix?

Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.

That happened to my GFs iMac G5 and Apple replaced the PSU and logic board. Same situation as you, they replaced the logic board, the problem remained. So they replaced the PSU also.
