Hi,
I'm trying to install Leopard on my iMac g5. It currently has Tiger on it. I insert the DVD, it comes up with the normal Click here to install, but when I restart it freezes. I held down C during start up this time to make sure that it booted from the DVD. After the apple logo screen, it went to a blue screen with a cursor that I can move around, but that's it. It's stuck there. Any help?

Thanks!!

Do you have a backup of your files? If so, try doing a completely clean installation.

Warning: These steps will erase the files from your Mac, so backup first!

1. Boot from your Leopard DVD.
2. Select your language.
3. Go to the menu bar and select Tools (?) then Disk Utility.
4. Select your hard drive, select Partition, choose "1 partition", click button (can't remember its name).
5. Quit Disk Utility.
6. Finish the installation.
7. Restart.

If those steps don't work, you might have a problem with your internal hard drive.

The problem is that I can't boot from the DVD. When I try to, it goes to a blue screen with a cursor and that's it. Thoughts?
