hey guys I noticed the other night that one of the USB ports on the back of my iMac G5 is not working. I've tried checking it using a USB stick/keyboard/mouse/digital camera and the all do not respond. Does anyone else know of anything else I can do? I guess I will need to get a new backplane sent to me from apple.

Thanks in advance,

Todd

If it doesn't respond, it's almost definitely a broken plug/backplane, not a broken root hub. Have you checked, whether the plug feels sloppy, sort of `tired´ ? I've broken a few USB plugs in my computin' days :) Though mostly mini-plugs, like those on digital cameras :p

I'm sure Apple will be helpful in replacing it :)
