I recently picked up an iMac G5 which had the noisiest lower fan I'd ever heard, so I popped it open to repaste it and oil the fan bearing.
Everything seemed to go fine, I put it back together, and it booted! But now my screen doesn't work. I was very careful around the inverter and display cables, they all seem seated properly now, but no dice.
Thankfully I enable remote management on all my Macs, so I remoted in to see what was going on. The machine had booted fine, but wasn't detecting a display at all (not showing in System Profiler).
What might I have done? What should I check?
