I am experiencing quite big temperature increase of GPU after installing Lion. With SL I had about 60'C while slight usage and web browsing, now iStat shows 75'C. I don't consider it normal, what could cause it? Is there any possible fix for it?

Thx in advance

One method to keep iMac insides cooler is to install 3rd party Fan Control software. Increase the default fan speed by a small 300 RPMs (re: default is is 950 RPMs. Increase to minimum 1200 RPMs) and it will keep the insides cooler.

If wondering, I run 3rd party fan speed software on my iMac and it runs 5C-8C much cooler - compared to factory default. And, I'm not "over spinning" its internal fan speeds either. re: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23049/smcfancontrol

I read a few times that Lion doesn't like Flash. As a suggestion, use Lion with Firfox Web Browsing application instead. If your iMac insides run cooler, then one odds are, it has something to do with Flash (in Safari).

I am concerned aboit electricity usage. More heat at same fan RPM = more energy used for GPU. Before it was normal so it has something to do with software.
