I have now had this problem for a while my imac 10.5.8 has become very slow and hangs and only way is to turn it off leave it off for awhile and then turn it on again or it will not come on just showing the folder with question mark.
I have done disk repair and tried started up in single user mode (cmd s) and when I exit from there it come with the error
sockwall_cntl_updaterules ctl_enqueuedata rts err 55

A few month ago I reformatted the machine it helped for a bit but had gone bad again and seems to be getting worse by the day.

can anyone help me with this?
