iMac HD icon won't change!

Howdy doo everyone...I have a crisis on my hands (well not really but I wanted to be dramatic), and that crisis is my iMac HD will NOT change back to it's default icon and/or I can't change it in general.

If you understand my dilemma and think you can help me then please reply

so when you get info to the HD, and you select the icon (should have a blue glow around it) and hit delete it does nothing? are you sure permissions are set correctly for the drive?

Download CandyBar (google it, sorry). It should fix the problem.

It reverts the icon back to default but when I exit out of the get info box it changes again to my altered icon

Highlight the icon and Command+X and see if that works.

I never knew you could hit Delete to revert back…
