iMac HD won't show on desktop

Shortly after installing Leopard I put my iMac HD icon on the dock. I later decided I wanted it back on the desktop and can not get it to display. I tried to drag it off of the dock and all that did was make it not show up on the dock now either. It does not show up finder either. My two external HDs show up just fine. But the internal does not show up anywhere. I have gone to 'Finder' 'Preferances' 'General' and made sure its set to show HDs on the desktop.

Any idea what the heck I goofed up?
