So I've been an Apple fan since the beginning of university and my last Mac (Powermac G5 served me extremely well over the past few years. However, I've been having some issues with my iMac i7 that have made me somewhat less enthusiastic - I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I had some problems where I couldn't sleep the computer manually (it just wouldn't respond) and where I couldn't wake the computer up from sleep which I posted about earlier and which still remains unresolved - because I just ran into a bigger problem with my iMac.

I'm in the process of moving right now and so I unplugged my iMac and just plugged it back in here at my cousin's place temporarily. I booted it up, ready to use it for a few hours - and I can't click on anything. It boots up, the mouse moves around the screen, but nothing is clickable. The keyboard also doesn't seem to work. I should note that I tested this with both a wired mouse and the Magic mouse and the same thing happened in both cases.

I rebooted the computer in safe mode where the keyboard and mouse worked perfectly, disabled login items (only had two, iTunesHelper and AwakenHelper), repaired permissions (nothing wrong except an ARDAgent that couldn't be repaired - from what I read online, people were saying Apple claims this message is safe to ignore) and rebooted the computer normally - and still, I can't click on anything at all but I can move the mouse around the screen.

I have absolutely nothing plugged in and the computer is plugged directly into the wall outlet right now. I've also tried CMD+OPT+P+R starting it up and let it chime twice and it still doesn't work.

I should also note that I set up the startup disk to be the hard drive like others said to to make the bootup faster and it seemed like it took only 20 seconds or so for a while - but in the past week or two, it seems to have taken an abnormal amount of time to load...

This is starting to drive me nuts, especially as I've also been having problems with the Magic Mouse two-finger swipe constantly not working anymore. If anyone has any idea what is going on, please help me figure this out! I'm getting close to considering returning the i7 as much as I love everything else about it so far...
