Bought top of the line iMac (HDD only). Put 16gb RAM and 240Gb SSD instead of stock HDD (use iStatMenus to handle fans). xBench is more than double of what my 2008 8core MacPro with 32Gb Ram and 2x480 OWC SSDs used to show. Ah, and I kept about $1000 of price difference. Gotta love eBay!

So you made a grand selling your Mac Pro and replacing with this?

Nice :D

So you made a grand selling your Mac Pro and replacing with this?

Nice :D

...and I kept my SSDs from the MacPro. It went for $4300 with a couple of standard HDDs, Apple Cinema, 32Gb RAM and the bidding was quite active. iMac with extra ram and SSD cost is about $3300 and now I have 2 big SSDs waiting for Thunderbolt enclosure to keep my user folder. Price difference was enough to add an extra 27inch display. SO, now I have faster machine with 2x27 monitors instead of one paling 30-incher.

To be honest, I still think it was pure luck :D
