imac icons

The main icons on the bottom of the screen (eg) safari. finder , mail, dashboard, itunes etc .. how do I add and delete some of these icons?

Somehow im missing my system setting and im trying to put them back in the tray .. thanks

To delete them just drag them off of the tray onto the desktop and let go of the mouse button -- poof -- all gone.

To add, go into the application folder (or wherever it is that you have the thing you want on the tray) and pull the icons you want onto the tray and release. It creates an alias on the tray.
