this might be a dumb question, i'm thinking of changing my internet to verizon fios 75/35, but i hear that you get the best speeds when connected directly to the computer vs wifi.

can i do both? can i have th einternet connected to my imac (for best speeds) but also have a router for wifi for all my other devices around the house? apple tv, ipads, iphones, etc

Yes you can have a mix of wired and wifi devices.

Yep, most wifi routers also have a few Ethernet plugs on them. That's how I have mine connected––through Ethernet directly to the router and wifi for things like streaming video to my TV from Amazon Prime.
