Over the last year I've been super delighted with my iMac, but recently, I've started needing to write some essays that would be really useful to do while I'm at school, leading me to a choice between an upgrade of the iMac to a shiny new MBP/MBA and a screen or an iPad (we share an original one already within the family, but it's hardly ideal) to accompany my iMac.
In general, I prefer the former (although can't decide which MB) but I do enjoy the occasional Photoshop, and the dinky screen and massive slowdowns - at least on the old 2009 model I had - really made it impossible to use. Otherwise, I'm generally just browsing the web, writing essays, streaming video but also have an inability to close programs, so usually have 20+ windows open.
I haven't managed to have any hands on time with any 2012 models of any Apple products yet, so it would be great if anyone could advise which route they'd take!
