iMac is darker than usual

I'm set up on two monitors right now, one connected to my iMac. I had Windows 7 earlier today and it was fine, but I just now installed Windows 8.1 and suddenly my iMac monitor is much darker than normal. It's as if the brightness is turned down in the Power Options in Windows or with the britghtness key on the Apple keyboard, but it's on full brigthness on both these. Changing the brightness in the nVIDIA Control Panel doesn't help. The brightness will change, but it will stay as dark as before, just a "brighter dark" if that makes any sense...

What's wrong here? It's not broke, cause it's perfectly bright in Mac OSX...

I seem to recall that you have to turn off the auto-brightness setting in your Windows 8 preferences.
