iMac keeps loading

Hi,

I know a guy that is wondering if his iMac can be fixed. He said his two year old knocked it off a two foot high table and now it turns on and the Apple logo comes up, but it just keeps on loading and never turns on. What do you guys think could be wrong with it? Fixable?

Was it on when it fell? If so, it could easily have damaged or ruined the spinning HDD.
