Hey Guys,

Ok here goes....

Should i go for

3.4ghz i7, 1TB Fusion, 8GB Ram, 2GB Graphics

or

3.4ghz, 1TB 7200 Hardrive, 8GB Ram, 2GB Graphics, Buy an External SSD (just read about this so not sure on the Cons etc?)

or

3.2 GHZ i5, 1TB Fusion or 1TB normal with external SSD and same specs as above?

I also qualify for 12% Discount :)

Thanks

Educational Discount :)

It will be used for business use, Photoshop, Gaming and a little future proofing :)

What I would choose if I were in your shoes:

3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz

8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB (I'd go up to 16GB if possible)

768GB Flash Storage (Buy an external HDD for storing your media etc)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5

I forgot about the discount for students. :D

Can anyone else offer there opinions?

Would really appreciate it!

I have 3.4Ghz i7, 1TB Fusion Drive, 24GB RAM (added 16GB of crucial RAM) and 680 MX 2GB.

It is an absolutely fantastic computer! I use it for the basic e.g. Web surfing, Netflix etc but I also use it for photo editing and graphic design (I use an app called Pixelmator, it's from the app store) video editing and gaming. It's blazingly fast and handles everything I throw at it. No slow down, no lagging, nothing. Just pure power!

I reckon you should go for the setup I have. You can upgrade the RAM in the future if you need/want to :)
