I have a strange issue with my Late 2012 21" iMac, it has OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2. The issue is this, if i turn on my iMac and then walk away for more than about 5 mins without logging in, it shuts down! it does not happen once I am logged in to OS X, I have never had this issue before with other Macs. Any ideas?

I am experiencing the same issue on a 17" MacBook Pro running 10.8.3 and a Mac Mini, also running 10.8.3.

Power on...
FileVault login...
wait... wait... wait... (don't have exact time)...
System auto-powers down...

I have to physically press the power button and restart then login if I wish the system to stay up.

Anyone else with this ever figure this out?

Thanks!

You have 90 days of free AppleCare telephone support, no time like the present to begin using it.

I did not try this out but I think it's a smart way to do this, why waste energy if you don't login, if this is build into OS X Apple made a good choice to do so.
