Computer: iMac Intel 17' (late 2006) EMC: 2114
logic board P/N 820-2052

So I needed a logic board for my computer, but I had no idea what the logic board part number is. So I got a 661-4290 instead (tried to match as best as possible). Assuming I replaced it correctly (all of the sockets matched), would a 661-4290 logic board work as a replacement for a 820-2052 in my computer.

because right now, it turns on, but it will not boot. No "Mac turn on" sound, no screen...the sleep light turns on...and stays on. and I can only force it to shut down with the power button. Before I start troubleshooting, I want to make sure the computer would normally work with this new board, if installed correctly. Thanks.

oh yea, putting the part number underneath the board so you have to take the whole computer apart to find it was such a great idea.

It is my understanding that the only compatible replacement of a logic board is the exact same model.
