To my dear friends and iMac experts, I'll tell you my story:

I purchased the M1 iMac at the end of 2021. I used it without any issues until August, until it suddenly displayed a pink screen and restarted a couple of times. I read about this problem and decided to restore the iMac to fix it. Everything worked fine for a few days, but it returned to the famous pink screen. However, when it restarts, it only displays the restore screen.

I don't use any unknown software and I haven't connected any external drives; I only use the Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard. Another thing to note: I'm watching videos on YouTube or Google Maps during the restarts.

Is there a definitive solution for this error? The system recommends restoring it, but it works for a couple of days until it returns to that cycle.

Want to add that I used system diagnostics and it didn't show any detectable errors. The first time the pink screen appeared was using macOS Sequoia. I upgraded to Tahoe, and it persists.

Wait you have pink screen? Should be Pinkish Hue right ? Appear around the screen areas? This problem actually first appear on intel iMac. I own it which i bought in 2015. After using it for more than 3 to 4 years than I noticed got Pinkish hue even burn mark if I watch Youtube video or live stream. After few mins or so it will automatic gone. For me I don't particular with it since already use more than 3 years or so. Is like part and parcel how hardware run down etc. At least that time when I first own it. The screen is perfect never show any Lines suddenly etc.

Later in 2024 I get M3 iMac. Only use literally just only one year + haven't reach 2 even 3 years, Suddenly there are Lines appear at the bottom of my M3 iMac. When I first see the problem , is from Mac Rumours here. There is an article M1 users encounter suddenly Lines appear on their iMac screen. Later I go further search around online, Apple community there is thread on this issue too! Even else where numbers of reports from M series user encounter Lines suddenly appear after using for one year or so.

Your problem seem different. You don't have lines suddenly appear on your M1 iMac? How your pink screen looks like.

The pink screen problem doesn't appear around the screen. I think it's a hardware issue related to the GPU. In my case, as I said, I was watching videos in Safari and suddenly the entire iMac screen turned pink and blacked out.

I've been using Apple computers for over 10 years, and this is the first time I've had a serious problem. I used Apple Diagnostics, but it didn't detect any problems.

Your M1 iMac already use for how long? Interesting you never encounter " Suddenly got lines appears " ? I believe here in MacRumours you should know there is an article mention M1 users encounter " lines suddenly appear on their iMac screen ". As mention not just m1 users me as M3 user also encounter " lines suddenly appear " Upon using just only one year +. This is quite un acceptable as Apple user. All along I using iMac , those old iMac at least justify since already use over 3 to 5 years at least still working Ok.

On the pink screen you mention don't appear on my M3 iMac. My is suddenly have lines at the bottom. I never knock the iMac accidentally or never split any liquid accidentally. Just kinda suck now the latest Apple products don't say last long.... I don't know is it they purposely want more people buy Apple Care ..... Just too coincidence A lot M series users Once use over one year or so , faults , flaws suddenly appear unlike the previous iMac at least use over one year, two years or so still ok.
