imac > macbook ?

im going to get my first mac sometime around christmas and i was struggling with the the decision between an imac or macbook

im a casual gamer and minimizing the settings on games dont bother me too much, but im not sure the macbook could even then handle games like cod 4

but being a sophomore in high school, im guessing im gonna need a more portable computer to take around when i need to study or work on school stuff

which one should i get?
