Its probably reading the hard drive data like starting up or opening a program, its so annoying sometimes, its the WDC version. I read somehwere that you can get 2 diff types of hard drives, ones segate and ones wdc. Any wdc hdd owners out there is this normal?

Is this recent?

Could be harddrives are getting hot. Sometimes mine clicks when there hot..

If its been fine till now. I would backup things just to be safe.

hdd's at 49 degrees, i got my imac very recently, and its always clicked away, its not very loud but i can hear it if things are quiet :(
