iMac + MBA?

Really not sure what to go for.

a new 21.5 i3 imac with eduction discount for £850 + 2nd hand macbook air £400ish = £1250
refurb 27 inch i5 and keep my existing windows laptop = £1269

I know it depends on my needs, I am a uni student studying Computing.

Any opinions appreciated

Why not to get MBP and external monitor? Gives you the best of both worlds

You are aware that the Air is a C2D, right?

That said, my own set up is 27in iMac i5 & MBA with SSD... I find this perfect for my needs. For a student, though, that seems like it might be overkill unless you are doing really serious video editing, programming or something else processor-intensive.
