For all intents and purposes (price/value aside), from a performance perspective is a MBP essentially a portable imac, and a MB essentially a mac mini (except for isight)?
If not, where does comparison really break down?
If don't really need that much portability, is there actually an advantage to the desktops--such as heat, construction, (and external power pack w/ the mini)?
How do you mini owners feel about this?

I can tell you Apple Care is a heck of a lot cheaper on a desktop than a laptop. If I didn't need the porablity, I would definately go with a desktop for reliablility reasons.
