Hi I'm relatively new here hope you can help! :)

My iMac is a mid 2007 7,1 It has 4GB currently installed the maximum apple states... my question is has anybody installed 6GB? Ive read online people saying they have gone past the maximum successfully with this model but I would rather check here before buying anything else for my iMac.

Thank!

I have a couple mid2007 imacs. I havent installed 6gb of ram on either but i've seen enough posts to know that it works. Last time i priced it, a 4gb chip to replace one of the 2gb chips, costs around 100 bucks.

Thanks DaveNinja for confirming that, I know it's pretty expensive and is it really worth it on an older machine thats whats bugging me
