My mid-2010 iMac (bought Dec. '10) has been acting funny.
It's random when it happens but either:
1) the iMac will freeze and a gray screen fades downward and tells me I need to shut off my Mac and reboot
2) most recently, the Mac will start making a loud shrieking sound then a series of 3 beeps happen consecutively, forcing me to hard reboot
I've ran the OS X disc diagnostics (the short and long versions) multiple times but it reports back nothing. I want to take into the Apple store, but I'm afraid they won't be able to reproduce the problem(s), thus can't do anything for me.
What to do?
