My iMac configuration
iMac Mid 2011 27inch
CPU Intel core i7 2600
GPU NVIDIA Quadro K4100M
Memory 32GB
macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 I
would like to replace the CPU with an Intel core i7 3770K. Is it possible? Will the iMac work?

I think this should work because of identical CPU socket specs as Apple iMac 27-Inch Late 2012 - BTO/CTO - iMac13,2 - A1419 - 2546 BUT..

'the "Late 2012" iMac models have faster processors, faster architectures, faster RAM, faster graphics, as well as different connectivity than the "Mid-2011" iMac line replaced.' (everymac)

Here different architecture is implied. This makes me think that CPU upgrade would be accepted but RAM would not necessarily run at 1600 MHz.

PS - Does your GPU upgrade provide 4K@60Hz..?
