I went to the Apple Store to have an noise optical fan replaced, the tech while
doing some tests on the IMac told me that the computer crashed twice while doing the tests, further testing revealed that I had memory ram issue.I told him that since I upgraded to Mountain Lion my Imac slowed down a lot and I decided to upgrade my memory to 16 Gb (4Gb in each slots),the memory purchased at Best Buy is made PNY made for Macs DDR3,1333MHz.Since I installed the memory as far as I can remember the IMac only crashed twice on me but overall is been doing all right. The tech at Apple said in order for them to replace the noise optical is for me to replace the original two 2 Gb memory that were originally installed with the IMac and then eventually upgrade the memory ram with Apple compatible ones.My question is there such a thing as compatible memory ram stated by Apple that would not make the IMac crash,it seem like Apple Store just wants me to purchase their memory ram which costs $100 for just 4.0 Gb where I paid around $80 for a 16 Gb memory.
