Hi,

I have Imac 27" Mid 2011. The GPU is dead. Is there any way to fix it or any other options like adapters to use external GPU? i have seen this photo but can't find any thread that this will work.

Hope you guys can help me. Thanks in advance.

I advised reballing graphics card. It's a good solution.
Another option install graphics card compatible and Flash software.
I don't know if external gpu can be installed

hey guys,

i have an imac 2009 and an imac 2010 both need graphics card replaced.

can you please list all the supported graphics cards? i need the cheapest ones, the imac is just gonna be used for office stuff, so even 256mb of vram is great.

thank you all
:)

Hi all,

First-time poster.

I have this machine and installed a pre-flashed k1000m (2gb) which works great.
You can find numerous videos on YouTube to help step-by-step. I'm no pro, but followed 'Tech it Out' to the letter and replaced SSD (kinda hard), GPU&CPU (very hard) and RAM (easy!).

All this means I have Big Sur running great on a ten-year-old machine.

It's worth doing!

All the best!

The 2011 27" iMacs are still pretty good machines aside from the slow, unreliable GPUs.

Where did you get the pre-flashed k1000m? What processor did you have before, and what did you replace it with?

I have the 21.5”

I bought it from eBay. Really top job and came as described, I can pass on the shop if you like.

I have an i7 2600s (65w) which runs great 👍
