iMac mid 2011 SL downgrading problem

Hi there!

I have a iMac 27 i7 3,4ghz mid-2011 and it was shipped with Lion.

I do wanted to have SL installed instead of Lion and end up with installing with restore option with a 10.6.8 DMG restore via Disk Utility, and it worked.

I had SL without any problems til today, when i boot up imac i have the famous "ACPI" boot kernel panic (it seems to be a problem with the thunderbolt update that is causing this)

Now i see that everyone say that i should re-install SL and then re-do all updates but ignore the Thunderbolt update. But when i insert 10.6.3 retail disk then i get 3 beeps and cant start the install.

Does anyone know if my iMac can boot from 10.6.8 install disc, and if so, how can i get it as a installer disc?

I would advise running the OS that it shipped with or later. I tried using a older version of 10.7 that I had mirrored to my external HD from my 2007 iMac and had serious problems.

Burn 10.6.8 dmg in a DVD or a USB stick restart from it format your mac hard drive install done.

Yeah i know that i can format my disk and use a DMG 10.6.8 to get back to it but i have installed so much things and i have a time machine over the time since my iMac crashed. When i try to restore from it (tried with a few dates) i get the same error.

Therefore, my only option is to reinstall my Snow Leopard but i need to start the installation disc from version 10.6.8 (and not 10.6.3 which are my retail DVD). So how can i create a disc or boot from a source that have 10.6.8 install?

Yeah i burned it down and tried but when i boot it up from the DMG file its only the spinning wheel.

I don't get it how the DMG can be a installer DVD when it only contains a image file of an already installed osx 10.6.8 drive.

Anyone?
