Hey guys,

I have a 20" Aluminum iMac that was turned on last night before going to bed. I woke up this morning and it was turned off, and won't turn back on.

Tried resetting the SMC... but no luck, any ideas?

Thanks!

Do you mean that i will not physically turn on, or it will not boot up.

If it will not turn on, as stupid as it sounds, are you sure everything is plugged in and switched on. The power cable in the back of the imac may be the issue, if it is not pushed in properly.

also try unplugging the power from the socket/power bar, then plug it back.

For some reason, when my iMac experiences a power outage, it shuts off (obviously), but it will not turn on at all until I do the above method. Not sure why it does this, but it does not appear to be harmed in any way.

The same is true of my 24" iMac. I wonder why this is. It doesn't seem to create any problem. Just a funny quirk.
