Hi all,
I am new on this forum and reading through all the posts I am happy I found you. I have a MBP 13 inch 2009, and have made the decision that from now on I am going to do all my computing (work - office applications and windows only software that works under VMWare; private: photo editing and browsing) on my Mac. This means that I at least want a bigger screen - and preferable a bit more USB slots. I spend a long time trying to make up my mind whether to go with an Imac 27 inch, or to get the 27 inch external display, and upgrade the MBP sometime in the future as I feel 8 GB would better suit my needs and make VM ware a bit faster. As I want to get rid of some clutter, I would also love to ditch the external speakers, and am wondering if there is any difference between the speakers in the Imac and in the Cinema Display? Other question I have is what an Imac does in case of a power failure - does it switch off instantly or do they have some sort of emergency battery? A worry I have about the MBP-display combination is overheating the laptop - I live on the Mid North Coast of Australia and summer temperatures can get up to 40 degrees celcius here (no aircon).
I would appreciate all your thoughts,
thx,
ak
