I got a used iMac with OS9. Every time I turn it on I have no noise except for fan & powerup sounds (no chime or anything like that) and a text message says "The system software on the startup disk only functions on the original media, not if copied to another drive". If anyone could offer some advice as to how to make this iMac work I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I'm assuming that you don't have access to the original disks. However, you should be able to get your hands on the imac install/restore disks pretty easy for os 9. If you can't drop me a message and I'll send you a set. Just boot off the disks and install.
