I just got an iMac, used, for free from a family friend. It worked for about two weeks, then, after a wind storm (if that's relevent), the internet wouldn't work. The internet works in every other computer in the house, and when my father hooked the cable to his mac Laptop, it worked fine. How can I get my internet back up?
Advice? Help? Suggestions?

Check the lights on the router to see if you are getting a light when the machine is plugged in.

goto system preferences--->network--->show Built in Ethernet--->Proxies and uncheck them all.

This will get internet working again.
