I recently purchased a iMac Pro and have had nothing but headaches. I transferred my data using Migration assistant hooking both computers together. I couldn’t download anything because the Preference to allow downloads from Mac Store and Known Developers would not stay. Then it would not boot would hang for hours. Ran disk utility and it found errors with the fstree??? I tried safe boot and that failed but then it did boot and I installed the latest update and now the preferences are holding. Booted to internet recovery and still have the fstree error but disk utility won’t repair it. Funny thing is Tech Tool says the drive is fine.

Now I have an issue with iTunes. I can’t download anything from the iTunes Store. I keep getting error -50. My iTunes library is stored on an external drive. I saw online deleting the download folder in iTunes may work but I can’t find it. That info was based on iTunes 9 so I don’t know it this is still the case.

Any ideas on how to fix the iTunes download error -50?

Thanks

This sort of thing happens a lot with migration. Especially with mismatched OS and app versions. Best practice is to set up a new system as a new system, just copy files you need, not settings/apps/etc.. Permissions, keychain, etc.. always get botched on some level.

How to fix it now? Probably best to re-partition your SSD, do a clean install and start fresh.

[doublepost=1516221000][/doublepost]How would it keep my iTunes library intact? It’s stored in an external drive. What would I do after the fresh install to not lose my music library info.
