I'm on the verge of buying a 27 inch iMac with the i7 processor. I'm going to order it with 8gb's of ram on it. My question is this. There are two ways you can order 8 gb's. 2x4gb cards which is the more expensive of the two, or 4x2gb cards which is the less expensive one. Is one any faster than the other? Or since they both equal 8gb's will they both produce the same speed.
Now I do understand that if I want to upgrade to 16gb in the future it is a better deal now to just get the 2x4 gb cards. But I'm not sure I will ever do that. So I"m thinking of saving a little money and just going with the 4x2gb setup if there isn't going to be any performance difference. Any advice in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

They are as fast. If you get 2x4GB, buy 2x2GB to get 12GB, but if 8GB is fine, get 4x2GB. I would buy the RAM from aftermarket, cheaper
