I purchased a pair of RAM for my Macbook Pro 4,1 laptop to upgrade the RAM from 2gb to 6gb using 2.0GB + 4.0GB PC5300 DDR2 667MHz 200 Pin from OWC order link

Is it possible to use the same RAM to upgrade the iMac i5?

Thanks.

Looks like it's too slow. I think you need 1333MHz on your i5. Check the System Profiler under "memory"

Your ddr2 ram stick will not fit into ddr3 slot. Plus they are not designed to work toghther unless the motherboard have ram slotss for both.

It won't work, you need DDR3.

The memory controller is integrated into the CPU die and only support DDR3.

Thanks for the reply; I still have one more question, will it be ok to use this specific RAM from buy.com ($10.00 off) link into the iMac MC309LL/A (iMac Spec)

Thanks.
