I just received my IMac Retina (1tb ssd, 295x, 4Ghz, 16GB Ram) and love it so far. The screen is gorgeous and I don't seem to have any fan noise or heat issues that others have complained about. I have seen videos of Yosemite booting on other machines and notice a slight difference on mine. When the status bar begins loading on the black screen with the Apple logo, the screen flashes/goes blank once it reaches about a quarter of the way (lasts a second or so). It then comes back with the status bar around 75% and finishes loading very quickly. It only takes around 13 seconds to reach the user account selection screen, but I have not seen any other machines go completely black for a moment while the status bar is loading. The behavior is consistent on my IMac but just wondering if this is normal? Can anyone with an IMac Retina, including similar specs, confirm this is normal during startup? Thank you!
