I have a 2015 13" MBP that I've connected to my 2012 27" iMac with an official Apple Thunderbolt cable and am trying to use target display mode. It works, but the iMac screen is VERY dark and the keyboard buttons to turn the screen brightness up don't have any effect. I can't seem to find anything about this online.

Unplugging the cable, reconnecting it, and reenabling target display mode brought the brightness slider back. Weird.
