I am putting this here and not the marketplace section because this is not an ad. I am seeking advice on what my Mac is worth. I went to a website last night where you input what Mac you have, RAM, HD, etc. and it told me $560. I have a 2009 27" iMac with a 2.8GHz i7, 8GB RAM, 2 TB HD, Radeon 4850, wireless keyboard and mouse. I paid around $2,000 for it. I know it's 5 years old but has this model depreciated that much that I can only get less than $600 for it?

Honestly while it is worth more than $500, it's still not worth that much. eBay would fetch around $700
If your interested in selling it, I would buy it for $650

Macs hold value remarkably well, but you have to be realistic. A 5 year old computer is ancient technology. Getting 35% of the original retail value would be amazing.

it all depends

it depends where you are living. If you are in the USA, then probably this is what you get. In other countries you can get more. I just sold my 27inch from late 2009 with 16GB of RAM and 2TB HDD for 1650 USD. Lucky me I guess... But I also paid like 3,750 USD when I bought it. Actually, how is it that yours was so cheap??? The model you describe was the high end model back then...
