hi there,

I'm a first time Mac user and am setting up my new machine (bought on Friday) and have a question about how to manage all of my photos.

I have around 20,000 images which were stored in a folder structure of picture/year/month/event on my PC. These are backed up to on an external hard drive and I have imported these into my profile on the Mac (pictures folder).

I have 2 user profiles on the Mac (myself as admin and my wife).

I've not done anything with photos yet as I don't want to do something i cant undo if I do it incorrectly.

What I want to do is:-

1) Be able to view all of the pictures in both profiles but retain the current folder structure I have.
2) Ensure that any changes made in one profile are replicated in another.

I've read a number of pages and watched some online tutorial videos but am still confused how/if I can achieve what I want. iCloud is mentioned a lot but I'm unsure if I need to use this or not.

I also have a question about sharing an itunes profile which i will save for later as i think it may be a similar solution.

Any help or advice on how to solve this for a newbie would be cery much appreciated.

Stu
