I have a 2012 iMac with the latest version of El Capitan'. I never modified or upgraded anything on it.
I have been having a lot of problems with it shutting down while it's in sleep mode only.
Here is a list of things I've tried.
1. reset SMC
2. reset PRAM
3. Formatted and re-installed a fresh copy of El Capitan'
4. Checked my power strip and wall outlet ( I DON'T use a battery back-up for power outages)
I googled my issue and it seems that many people have had this issue on mac mini, mac pro and even MacBooks. I read several threads in different forums and they never come up with a resolution.
Have any of my fellow forum members had this issue? If so, how did you fix it?
P.S. I have only had this happen 2-3 times since 2012, once I installed El Capitan', it happens on a daily basis.
