I have a 100W solar panel on the roof and 65ah batteries to power my iMac and office fan (I live in the desert). Curious to know how many watts the iMac draws, measured its power with a "Kill-A-Watt" meter. Under normal use power is 45-55 watts of 110vac but when put to "sleep" power drops down to 3 watts!! My little 12" fan draws so little that the 100W solar stays fully charged when only the fan is on. Do need about 100-120ah of battery tho' to run iMac during day and up to 11pm at night in spring sun.

Anyone else tested solar powering Macs, iPads, etc? :)
