Hi - I bought my first iMac a few months ago - it is an upgraded i3 with the 1 TB HDD and the Radeon HD 5670 graphics (mid-2010 model). Loving it so far.
Up until a few days ago it went into Sleep mode within approximately two seconds (which totally amazed me coming from a Dell PC with Vista). Now, it is hanging for a while and takes about twelve to fifteen seconds to enter Sleep. I've only done two things that I believe might have caused this:
1) I (stupidly) fiddled with the Canon i9900 inkjet driver on my iMac. I tried to print to the Canon which was connected to a laptop Windows PC, wirelessly from my iMac. I never could get the iMac to recognize the Canon printer and gave up. Can I just uninstall the Canon printer driver on my iMac and reinstall it so I get a fresh copy? If so, how?
2) I connected a Canon scanner (LiDE 50) to a USB port on the iMac. Nothing seemed to happen, no driver was installed apparently, so I just abandoned that effort and unplugged the Canon scanner. Perhaps it was after this that the Mac began entering Sleep mode with a delay.
I believe one of these actions is causing my iMac to hang a bit before entering Sleep. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
