Hoping someone knowledgeable out there can help me..

Just having a bit of trouble with my iMac lately.

As of a few nights ago I have noticed that my iMac is taking forever to shutdown and boot up (but mainly shutdown). It used to turn off quite instantly but now it takes 4-5mins for the white screen to blank and power to go off.

I thought about what was causing it as I dont use it for any intense work and data is stored on an external drive.

The only things I could think of was; could it be Lion? or a lack of RAM? .... anything else? Im really concearnced as its only a few months old and I have taken good care of it.

Is there anything that could help this? Any software or settings?

FWIW – Its a 2011 27" iMac i7 Quad with 4GB RAM.

If anyone could shed some light on this it would mean alot – thanks!
