iMac sound distortion through headphone jack on monitors?

Hey so I just sold a guy my iMac on CL and hes complaining its not working and wanting his money back because he is a DJ and there is distortion when he moves the mouse over his system. I dont know what it is exactly but sounds like bluetooth is interfering with the signal. Anybody know what could be going on?
