Just upgraded my Early 2008 24"iMAC's hard disk from a 320Gb HD to a 240Gb SSD.
The install is pretty easy, here is a few things....
0. Make and test an OSX boot disk using 'OSX Diskmaker 2'
1. The glass front comes of very easily, I bought a £10 glass lifter, in reality you can do it with a regular 'plunger'
2. You only need to disconnect the bottom two display cables, there is 'loads' of slack on the one behind the screen.
3. You need gaffer tape to fix the SSD to the insides, you can get one screw in but the rest you need tape.
4. Don't cry if you pull the cable off the inside of the case near the isight, I did and i don't see that anything is broken
5. Get a T8 & T6 screwdriver the T6 is only needed for the screwed down display cable.
The speed difference is amazing, i really don't see how the mac could be any faster for regular usage ! I was thinking about swapping it out but there really is no point now. The drive I upgraded to was an OCZ Agility 3 240Gb.
