Hi all, I'm trying to remove the stand on my emc 3389 iMac but when I insert a card to release the latch to fold down the stand, exposing the torx screws, there is no latch, nor does it disengage anything. Also the card barely fits, a bank card won't even fit its so tight. Can someone give me some advice? This is the latest iMac model I believe.

Thanks!

What size iMac is it? If it isn't a 24 or 27, you can't undo the stand, at least without taking it completely apart. You probably know that already though.

What do you mean by "undo"? You most certainly can remove the stand on a 24", to use the VSEA mount to put it on a 3rd party stand/arm. You can also remove the VESA mount and put the original stand back on if you want to.

I meant, if it isn't a 24" or a 27" iMac, you can't remove the stand. So if it's a 17, 20 or 21.5", you can't remove the stand that way. You can remove if you take it completely apart but that's a lot of work.

The thin edge iMacs cannot have the stand removed from the outside. This was only an operation possible on the inch thick iMacs from yesteryear. You have to specify vesa mount at point of purchase if that's what you need.
