Any place but here or there....
Hi everyone,

my 2013 27" iMac was killed by whatever malware etc. was a part of the Yahoo hack. Part of the reason why I bought this model was for target mode. Despite going through the 7 pass erase and supposively removing the offending files, this machine is kaput and still corrupted.

My question is if I use this iMac as a display for the Mac Mini, would the Mac Mini become infected with whatever is still on the iMac?

I realize this is probably a silly question and I will try anti-virus software on the newer Mac but...

MODS: please delete this thread. My 6 yr old iMac is up and running for moment. Thank you.

You wiped the drive and still think it has a virus? That doesnt make sense. I would guess the hard drive may have gone bad, but not still have a virus.

if you use the imac as a screen the display port will not transfer files from the imac hard drive to the mini.
