iMac to Vizio TV

I just bought a new smart tv to replace my old lcd television.. my old tv also doubled as a second monitor for my imac via hdmi cable.. Now i'm trying the same thing with my new tv and it's not working.. my imac recognizes the television and even the model number..



but the tv doesnt show my mac at all.. I realize i have and older imac and just wondering if that's the problem or am i missing a setting or something

Have you tried all the HDMI ports on the TV, if there's more than one?

Brilliant!! I never thought of that.. that did work.. strange.. for some reason hdmi 3 wouldn't work with my mac but hdmi 2 did. so i swapped with my ps3.
