Let me describe my situation.
IMAC 27, 2009, 2 HDD: 1 stock HDD 1GB, 1 SSD Crucial 256GB.
I was running normally as below:
1GB HDD: 2 partition: 1 partition installed Windows 7 64 bit
SSD: 2 partition: 1 for MAC OS, 1 for Win 7 64 bit.
Everything runs perfectly until yesterday.
I reinstall Win 7 on 1GB HDD using the Original Win 7 Disk. I run the setup file while running Win 7. Everything goes smoothly. However, when I restart, press Option key to select the partition just installed with Win 7. It is not able to boot. There is an apple logo, then a flashing/blinking empty folder. It does not stop. I have to press Power to restart. Still able to boot to MAC OS.
I use Winclone to clone an image of Win 7, which I used previously to install on 2 partitions. The process completes successfully. Restart. Imac can boot into Windows, however, it stops after the running bars appear for 3 seconds and automatically restart. It repeats.
I decide to erase everything on SSD, install MAC OS from original disk, restore the disk into 1 partition only. I erase the other Win 7 partition, because I think it somehow affects the setup.
Then, I use Bootcamp to install Win 7. I put the disk into the DVD drive, click Start Installation in Bootcamp. Imac restarts.
However, the same thing happens: There is an apple logo, then a flashing/blinking empty folder. It does not stop. I have to press Power to restart. Still able to boot to MAC OS.
I really don't know how to proceed. Any suggestion is welcome.
